§ II. General Amendments

By Ordinance No. 89-568, adopted October 2, 1989, the charter was revised to simplify language, eliminate gender-based references, and make style uniform throughout the charter. Because of the extensive and non-substantive nature of these general revisions, references to each section affected have not been included.

By Ordinance No. 2001-20, adopted August 27, 2001, non-substantive changes were made to the charter to make it more readable and understandable. This included the re-organization of some chapters into a different structure. Some sections and subsections of the charter refer to different subject matter after this ordinance was adopted.
